| For many years, Jean had been
teaching others the simple, yet incredibly important methods of decision-making,
self-mastery, balance and transcendence that she herself had been taught. The value of the
classes became very apparent as her students began to achieve stability, balance and
transcendence.
Once several students transcended,
they too began to teach — and more students came, seemingly out of the blue. (No
students have ever been solicited).
 The mission of
The Michaels Foundation is to further the teaching of self-mastery and transcendence, and to
foster understanding of the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man. The Foundation uses
Jean’s book, Transcendence of Self Is a Way of Life,
to introduce new students to these basic concepts.
Eventually, all media, including
lectures, videos, broadcasts and the Internet, will be employed to distribute this
information worldwide.
Regular classes are, and will
continue to be, the backbone of the Foundation, for part of their purpose is to train our
future teachers. One of our goals is the development of a private school that will serve
as the model for future schools and colleges where these practices are integrated into the
curriculum. We believe many problems can be solved when young people realize that they
have a much higher purpose in this life, beyond the achievement of material goals.
Humanity’s history need not be
its future. We can give our children and grandchildren a world of peace, free of conflict
and fear, but only when our perceptions of what is, and what is possible, come to embrace
what is spiritual, universal and real. We know that transcendence of self is the true
solution to the world’s problems. In fact, there is no other way.
